IVA’s Power league is for the most competitive teams in our region. They power league champion receives the Intermountain Region bid to the USA Volleyball Junior National Tournament.

2012 IVA Power Division

Tournament Participation Guidelines

Youth Power Division- Road to the USAV Junior Nationals –Columbus, OH – June 28-July 7, 2012.

Power Division Tournament Fee: $1900

(6 events: 1 seeding weekend play, 4 Saturdays point play & 1 Championship–Bid Qualifier). A $200 “Early Bird” registration discount will be offered for teams registering and paid in full between September 1, 2011 and November 1, 2011. Register on advancedeventsystems.com

  •  Registration opens on September 1, 2011 on AES and runs through December 1, 2011 5:00 pm MST.  Team registering after December 1, 2011, 5:00 pm MST to December 14, 5:00 pm MST will incur a $300 late registration fee.  Power Division registration closes on December 14, 2011 at 5:01 pm MST.  NO Entry will be allowed after this date and the Power Division/League will be locked for play beginning January 5, 2012.
  • All teams in MUST play in ALL 6 events. If a team fails to participate in a Power Division event, the team will be excluded from remaining events without refund. Unfortunately for the benefit of all teams we cannot allow exceptions to this requirement.

IVA is offering seven (7) Club tournament events for teams that are not able to commit to the Power Division schedule. 

  • Teams may ONLY participate in the age division they wish to compete for the IVA Junior National Bid Qualifier*

*Power Division teams are however encouraged to enter and “play up” in older age divisions in the IVA Club Tournament schedule to gain additional experience and competition.

  •  Each registered Power team MUST HAVE three (3) Qualified Official Representatives* on the team roster.  Each “qualified representative” MUST be present with their assigned team during play weekends.

*Qualified official representation: one R-2, one score-keeper and one line judge. These individuals MUST BE trained and approved by IVA/USAV prior to February 15, 2012. A “back-up” or replacement person is suggested for each position (resulting in 6 qualified officials per team).

  •  Each registered team MUST HAVE one (1) USAV adult members (with cleared back-ground checks) designated as official parent chaperones on the team roster.
  • Each registered team MUST HAVE one (1) IMPACT certified coach.  A certified coach must accompany their assigned Team each weekend of play.  Per USAV policy, coaching certification must be completed by March 15, 2012 of the current club season.
  • The format for All tournament events will be pool play followed by bracket playoff. Every match will have one (1) certified R-1official
